Uses：
Propionic acid is mainly used as a food preservative and mold inhibitor, especially for the preservation of bread, pastries, and feed. It can also be used as a viscosity inhibitor, nitrocellulose solvent, and plasticizer in beer. In the field of electroplating, it can be used as a zinc plating buffer, a semi bright nickel plating additive, and a passivation solution modification, as well as for the synthesis of cellulose acetate propionate, pesticide herbicides, and pharmaceutical intermediates. Propionates can be used as fruit flavor ingredients such as apple and pineapple, as well as cigarette filter plasticizers.
